CaptureIt! für Mac

Doesn't work for me. Waste of $30 and way more in my time. I paid for this because it is totally worth it if it works. It doesn't. The cost of the license is a fraction of a percent of the loss compared to the amount of time I spent trying to get important screen captures to encode out of the proprietary format. Out of ~10 demos I have tried to record only one has been successful and it was a very short one (about 5 minutes long). All the others have been failures. CaptureIt! seems to be fine when recording the screen (although the UI is awful). When you are done and go to encode your screencast to video everything goes wrong. The encoding crashes or is successful but has major issues (frozen video, dropped audio half way through etc). I tried many settings (standard presets and various codecs) but no luck. I burned a ton of time trying to make the encodes work. Their proprietary (cividx) format prevents rescuing the captures with other programs. I do a lot with video and never have audio/video encoding issues with a variety of programs and codecs. So the conclusion I draw is that the issue is with the CaptureIt! captured file or encoding process. I updated the program, talked to support (they said these problems happen sometimes but they don't know why...so I figured I was just unlucky...but it kept happening), I updated my OS. Nothing changed the fact that this software is buggy and unreliable. Running late 2010 Macbook Pro Core i7 2.66GHz with 8GB ram. Anyone want my license let me know, I am going to try something else...can't keep losing important demos and meetings.

Not too bad. I agree with another poster - totally non-Mac like. Plus, it doesn't recognize screen edges - hints pop up and run off the edge of the display.

This does what I want and need. I Like it.

Yet another screenshot app with an even less-mac interface? We have too many as it is, if you couldn't figure out cmd-shift-4 (built into your system, people!)

Great software. This is the thing i was looking for. A bit unusual interface but it does its work.
